The Friends of the Royal United Hospital recently received a cheque for £6,000 from the Asset Finance Professionals Association – a forum for people employed in the asset finance industry.
The money was raised at a pre-Christmas networking event in London and the cheque was presented by AF-PA chairman, Peter McDonnell to Friends chairman Mike Roy.
The Friends of the RUH is an independent charity providing equipment and services to the Hospital via around 300 volunteers and revenue generated by an on-site shop and coffee shop, both of which are open seven days a week.
Services include hospital guides, gardening and ward support, with profits from the shops funding equipment and amenities which would otherwise not be funded by the NHS.
The Friends of the RUH will celebrate its Diamond Jubilee this year.
