Absurd Bird is bringing its soul-warming comfort food of the American South to Bath, opening its doors in Southgate on 15 December.

Whether fried or grilled, only ethically sourced free-range chickens are used from Creedy Carver Farm, Merrifield, Devon, all of which will be smoked on site, marinated in secret recipe sauces and teamed with some irresistible sides.

Other signature dishes include the chicken and waffles in a smoked sweet gravy and maple syrup and a sweet potato bake with toasted marshmallows.

The restaurant also offers Absurd Moonshine and a creative cocktail list (all cocktails are £5 every day from 5 – 7pm. Whether visiting for dinner or drinks, Absurd Bird will no doubt prove a perfect place for some after work fun.

This opening comes just a few months after the company opened its first restaurant outside of London in Exeter.

Mark Hall, the group operations director, said: “We are delighted to be coming to Bath, it’s a fun and vibrant city with an audience which will fit perfectly with the Absurd Bird brand.
