A Bath-based giftware manufacturing company has launched the first highly-detailed, plaster miniature model of Bath’s iconic Royal Crescent at an event attended by the Mayor of Bath.

Timothy Richards, master craftsman and founder of the Modern Souvenir Co. (formerly Revival Arts of Bath), presented the first production model to the Mayor and pledged £1 from every sale as a donation to the Mayor’s Relief Fund, helping Bath residents who are in need, hardship or distress.

The event also saw the launch of the firm’s new brand – Modern Souvenir Co, which includes a collection of architectural models, sculptural pieces and portrait busts relating to the city of Bath. These include models of the Royal Crescent, and book ends and busts of Jane Austen.

“As a Bath firm that has a long tradition of employing highly-skilled craftspeople and creating the finest architecturally-inspired models in the world, it gives us great pleasure to achieve a longstanding ambition to make a model of the Royal Crescent”, said Timothy Richards. “It’s also satisfying to know that every time a Bath resident or visitor buys one of these models they will be helping someone less fortunate than themselves, via the Mayor’s Relief Fund.”

Modern Souvenir supplies some of the most prestigious organisations in the country, including Imperial War Museums, British Museum, National Portrait Gallery and English Heritage.
