Staff from chartered accountants Richardson Swift have launched a year-long fundraising drive to raise more than £1000 in aid of Bath charity, the Carers’ Centre
As part of the initiative, staff took time off work to volunteer at the charity’s annual Pamper and Picnic Day, which saw more than 40 local carers treated to an afternoon of relaxation, including free massages and pamper treatments.
Debbie Boulton, director at Richardson Swift, explains: “We’re delighted to be backing the Carers’ Centre and the vital support, advice and respite it provides to local carers.
“It’s estimated that three in five of us will become carers in our lifetime, so it’s something that will affect many of us at some point.”
Sonia Hutchinso, chief executive at the Carers’ Centre, said: “It is fantastic to be Richardson Swift’s charity of the year as it helps us both raise awareness and funds, enabling us to support over 4,000 people who care each year.
“Helping people continue to care for someone at home means keeping those people out of hospital and state services and in their familiar home environments. It’s so important.”
The Carers’ Centre next fundraiser will take place on Saturday 1 July at 7.30pm when local chamber choir Capella Nova will perform an exclusive concert at St Swithin’s Church in Bath.
Tickets are £10 or £6 for carers and are available at full price from the Bath Box Office. Tel: 01225 463362 or visit: bathboxoffice.org.uk, or at concessionary rates from the Carer’s Centre. Tel: 01761 431 388 or email: info@banescarerscentre.org.uk.
