Four stonemasonry students from Bath College will have their work showcased at the Natural Stone Show in May after taking part in a recent competition.
The competition was organised by Lovell Stone Group and involved 16 students being given some Hartham Park Bath stone and were asked to create a piece of sculpture that best represented the city of Bath.
The students were then judged on their work by Lovell Stone Group’s Simon Hart (MD), James Hart (sales director), Brian Newton (head mason) and Amanda Woollaston (marketing manager).
Four students have been shortlisted to go on to present their work at the Natural Stone Show in London in May. Visitors to the show will be asked to pick a winner, who will win a cash prize.
Amanda Woollaston praised the students for the high standard of their work, stating that it is “a real testament to the work of this niche faculty and their talented students.”
